Over half a century of healthy weight know how

Your weight-loss, your doctor, and what is “healthy eating”?

Have you ever been told in no uncertain terms that you MUST eat a healthier DIET?

Your “persecutor” – usually a doctor or health provider may “chastise” you because your blood pressure is up, or you are borderline diabetic, and you need to lose weight immediately. Your horrible detractor then proceeds to lecture you about weight-loss, calories, proteins and carbohydrates, blah, blah, blah – and maybe gives you a sheaf of weight-loss pamphlets with pictures of fruit, vegetables with a handful of mixed nuts. They then send you away to  contemplate your misbehaviour with dismal predictions unless you follow their instructions.

You enjoy a few glorious moments with a half-hearted resolve to mend your ways. These are put mentally  on the back-burner the following day. (Is not the pathway to hell paved with good intentions?). At the same time you deposit the pamphlets in a safe place then forget them – until you next see them again, when they are assigned to the trash can.
So what can you do to overcome your diabetes, bloodpressure, and super-sized waistline?

Are you completely content eating what you eat?  The take-aways, the fries, and the packets of chocolates, biscuits, cookies and other well advertised processed foods.

What’s wrong with my eating anyway? If those things were bad for me, they would be banned from sale, wouldn’t they?
Besides the doctor has given me a script for pills to fix my blood pressure, and diabetes is of no concern, because diabetes doesn’t run in my family. Who cares what the doc says, nothing bad is going to happen to ME!

Isn’t it?

Well my friend, if you think like that, what you suffer from most is Ostrich Disease. The ostrich you may remember is the bird that hides by burying its head in the sand when danger threatens.
You may not look like an ostrich, but you are behaving like one. Deep down you know that this is true, the trouble is you are still not certain how to plan your diet, so you can enjoy both weight-loss and a healthy lifestyle.

What can I do to help you?
What I am not going to do is give you a list of do’s and don’ts. There are countless libraries with innumberable thick books full of advice on diets and what you should be eating. The internet is stuffed full of dietry ADVICE , and so are you, I expect.

The two CNN Principles
My advice is simply this: Imagine you lived several hundred years ago, when there were no preservatives and any of the thousands of other chemicals that is inserted every second into our foods.
Healthy people ate what they grew, or caught, and they cooked it themselves. They also drank clean water (if they lived away from the cities).

Sounds boring, and you havent got time to do all that ..right?
There is a book written about the Hunza tribe entitled “The Wheel of Health” which describes people who lead active lives even though they may be over a hundred years old. You should read it and learn exactly how it is done! (If you can’t get a copy write to me for one).

The Hunzas eat natural foods with no additives, and they drink clean glacial water.

Eating a healthy diet is a learned process and like all worthwhile things, it takes some effort. Once you have the basic idea, you can embellish it to suit your new lifestyle.
The two principles remember for your weight-loss plan are Clean ‘N’ Natural – the dual CNN Principles for healthy eating. Then you reduce the risk of harm from the dangerous chemicals and other additives so freely included in commercial processed foods today.
