Have you ever been to a party, and then ”pigged out” on all the delicious food (and drink), knowing full well that your calorie intake has rocketed over the top? What happened to your weight-loss plan?
Hasn’t everyone? I hear you say.

Last Saturday 4th July, we went to a 40th birthday party and, not unexpectedly, were asked to dress as “American heroes”.
Since I bear somewhat of a resemblance to one of America’s true heroes, Abraham Lincoln…yes you guessed, I went as dear Abe (see picture below).
It was great party and as usual the food was plentiful, and delicious (not an ideal setting for your weight-loss plan. Pre-warned is pre-armed, so I concentrated on the fruit and vegetable dishes rather than the creams and cakes, although I was not silly enough to refuse a slice of the birthday cake!
OK . So I’m not Mr Perfect!
My encouragement to you, to lose or maintain your weight, is to do the same. Stay clear of the Calorie Collectors! And you know what they are if you are serious about weight-loss.
Remember : Good weight – good health go together.

Speaking of Abraham, here is perhaps my favorite Lincoln quote:
