New cat takes inches off Joan’s waist!

When relaxing watching the telly, or reading a book, it’s difficult for some of us to keep our hands to ourselves.  I know what you are thinking!
What I really mean is that we seek the comfort of a chocolate, or cake to help pass the time away.  [ Sorry if I disappointed you ;-) ].

I needn’t tell you that’s the time your weight creeps on your unsuspecting body.
Ah!  Now you are with me.

Our friend Joan (not her real name, but she definitely exists) is a middle-aged single woman, just moved into a new home, and at the same time got herself a brand new kitten. She had never owned a cat before, and we were pleasantly surprised to learn the cat (Colonel is its unlikely name) has made a huge difference to Joan’s life.

How is this?

First let me explain, Joan was a little overweight and was planning a weight-loss “attack”. Now a kitten is a demanding little creature. It wants to be fed, it wants to be let out, it wants to be let in, it wants to play, and most of all it wants to be stroked, especially, in this case, when Joan is watching the telly or reading a book!

You see where I am heading?

Now Joan, instead of allowing her hands to find comfort food is now obliged to tend to the demands of ”Colonel” the kitten. Joan has never been happier. She has a new friend, and the dreaded scales show she has lost several kilos. Now if that is not a weight-loss win-win I don’t know what is!
Maybe you could learn from Joan and find yourself a furry friend to sit on your lap and keep your hands from the comfort of the cookie jar, and lose weight at the same time?
